My Live Work

Live wedding painting captures the energy and emotion of a wedding day as it happens. Each piece in this collection was painted on-site during a real celebration, allowing the artwork to evolve alongside the ceremony and reception.

This is a unique art form that I have grown to love because it is something that cant be recreated. This type of work has forced me to not only trust my skills, but more importantly rely on my faith and my God given talent to be able to enter these projects confidently even without the ability to see an end result.

My First Wedding...

I will forever be thankful for the couple that reached out and trusted me with this idea. I had never heard of doing paintings Live at weddings but when they suggested and ask, I was very eager. What I didnt realize was the change in speed from what I was use to or expected. I learned the most from this very painting and am very proud of what I accomplished because it only jumpstarted many more to come.

I proved myself...

I knew I had one Live wedding painting completed but I wasn't truly sure if it was real yet on what I could do or if I could do it again. Going into this I knew It was going to be a reset. The background was going to be different, the details were going to be impossible to do, and could I finish it in time with what they want? The time factor was still stuck in my head from the first one. I knew this was going to be the most in depth one not only because of the background they wanted, but including the wedding party as well. Thankfully, I had a true 7 hours to complete this so I was able to include the details I wanted and not feel to rushed. At the end of the night, I managed to finish ahead of schedule and felt good with the outcome.

Why this one was my favorite...

I went into this project the most relaxed I'd ever been, almost a suspicious amount of calm energy which I had not ever experienced before with these. At an early point in the process, the calm energy quickly disappeared when my printer didn't work at the venue. So with this wedding, I had planned to try something new by printing out my photo I took of the moment I was going to paint, but nothing about that printer was going to work that day. Thankfully I managed with my resources and was able to achieve what I needed and completed the painting better than I could have imagined. I think back to this evening and remember that I had a moment where I had that conversation with God letting him know that I am putting my trust in you with this one which I believe is where that sense of calm and peace came from. Even with the small panic in the middle, I remembered to find that piece again and because of that this painting came out so wonderful.

My best experience...

Something about this one just felt right from the start. I knew the challenge would be difficult because this was the biggest painting (16x20) in the shortest amount of time (5 hours). As soon as I got to work, I was not ready for the overwhelming support I was getting from everyone there. This was hands down the most supportive and appreciative family and vendors I had worked for. From coordinating photos with the photographer, to talking to the parents, I got nothing but positive words full of gratitude. Not to mention, the Bride and Groom had one of the best reactions to seeing their painting. This night was truly one of a kind and I was so glad to be apart of it.
